Description
Join us for an exciting educational journey, where children get to dress up and roleplay as Orthopaedic doctors. Your child will experience performing bone surgery in an Operating Theatre setting and learn to bandage knees in an Emergency Room, among other medical activities.
For every registration of $25, the hospital will match with $300 to sponsor Total Knee Replacement surgeries for the needy elderly to help them get back on their feet again.
Kindly note that this event is designed for children aged 5-10. The whole experience will last for approximately 90 mins.
Doctor for A Day FAQs
1. How long will each experience take?
Each experience will take approximately 90 minutes.
2. Can parents tag along?
Parents are not allowed in the experience rooms, but can stand along the corridors outside the experience rooms where they can view what their children are going through.
3. Where is this event held?
The event is held in Parkwar East Hospital, 321 Joo Chiat Pl, Singapore 427990. There will be signs available in the hospital lobby. In addition there will be lobby staff present to direct you to the registration area.
4. What is the recommended age for children participating in this event?
This event is recommended for children aged 5-10 years of age.
5. What is the program like?
The program consists of five experience rooms, like learning how to deal with simple cuts and bruises, or learning how to take “tumors” out from a mannequin in the operating theatre.
6. What time should I arrive for registration?
We would recommend parents to arrive 10 minutes before your allocated slot for registration.
7. Do I have to print my ticket?
A printed ticket is not necessary. Showing the e-confirmation on the actual day to the staff at registration via your mobile would suffice.
8. The slots are fully booked. Will you be hosting another run of Doctor for A Day?
We regret to inform you that there is no concrete information if the hospital would be running another round of Doctor for A Day. We can place you on the mailing list for this current run, and if there are available slots, we will notify you as soon as possible.
